Lifted a client's on-prem servers and databases into AWS with zero data loss and minimal downtime. Re-hosted workloads onto EC2 and RDS, automated server config with Ansible, moved storage to S3, and cut over in a planned maintenance window.
Kept production apps online under load, Multi-AZ AWS with an Application Load Balancer and Auto Scaling, plus tuned Nginx reverse-proxy load balancing on self-hosted servers. Automatic failover and no single point of failure.
Resolved VPC connector issues and configured a reserved static IP for inbound and outbound traffic on a Cloud Run service. Stable, predictable networking, with the architecture clearly documented for the client.
Containerized apps with Docker and ran them reliably, serverless on ECS Fargate with blue/green, zero-downtime deploys, and production Kubernetes on EKS with autoscaling and Helm for multi-service teams.
Automated build, test and deploy with Jenkins and GitLab CI on self-hosted infrastructure, then layered GitOps with ArgoCD, merge to deploy, many releases a day, fully traceable.
Managed dev, staging and prod as reusable Terraform modules with remote state, plus Ansible for config. New environments spin up in minutes, identical every time, with no drift.
Set up metrics, dashboards and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana and CloudWatch. Issues are caught and fixed before users ever notice, improving uptime and reliability across services.
Applied a zero-trust policy end to end, least-privilege IAM, locked-down security groups, AWS WAF, encryption at rest and in transit, and secrets management, to meet client compliance requirements.
Right-sized compute, added autoscaling, moved cold data to cheaper storage tiers and cleaned up idle resources to cut a client's monthly cloud bill by around 40%.
